Harvest after vacation...

oWe came back after our 14 day road trip to Saskatoon and visited Jasper and Banff. The Rocky mountains have one of the most stunning views your could ever see. I'll post some pictures in the next post. We had to prune our over grown tomato plants. The cabbages were infested with aphids and I had to pull them out. We harvested potatoes, lettuce, garlic and beans. We are just waiting for the tomatoes and egg plants to be harvested.

  1. Nice Potato Harvest, that's got to be 3-4 lbs. Nice looking tomatoes, I am starting to get green tomatoes on my plants too. I just hope they ripen fast. I hear that this is the last heat wave and then temps are going to be in just high 60s. Wonder if tomatoes need higher temp to ripen....

  2. I think we are done with the heat wave in Vancouver. We might look at average temperatures in the coming weeks. If that's the case my tomatoes wouldn't produce more fruits and the Indian veggies such as Ridge gourd, Bitter gourd and bottle gourd would be in doubt.

  3. you are right, after tomorrow Seattle region is going back to being wet and rainy. So far I only got 3 ripe tomatoes (all cherry types), I have many more waiting to ripen. This is definitely not a tomato year. All Bitter gourd vines are dead, sometime in June there were 2 cold and wet nights that did it for bitter gourd. maybe some veggies are not meant for NW... hopeful for next year :)
